If you are a child of the 80s, then you probably listed to Yaz (or Yazoo if you are English). The duo, fronted by Alison Moyet and Vince Clark was a staple on many alternate channels, and with their big hit Only You, on the pop stations for a while.
I have all three of their albums, and a lot of Erasure as well. Apparently they have hit the commercial mainstream – a jewelry store in Canada is running Only You as music in their current Christmas ads, according to a Canadian friend of mine. So that only started the ear worm, and the lyrics have bounced around inside my head for the last two days, so in an effort to get them out of my head, I present another version, this from a commercial fashion show where Alf has a full orchestra behind her.
And lest you think that I am opposed to Alf and Vince getting money for their song from a jewelry chain, you could not be more wrong. I am all in favor of it.
